Here at Beachside Blinds and Curtains we often see curtain sales as high as 40-50% off from some competitors. No doubt that it is an attractive proposition for anyone looking to update their home…and even those who are happy with their window coverings but cannot resist a good bargain.
Let’s take a step back and think for a moment. The aim of any business is to make a profit and this desire to make money doesn’t stop at the beginning and end of each season.
Do you really believe a business offers these sales as legitimate discounts? We Don’t. Often prices are marked up a few weeks before the sale to present a perceived large discount which in reality is higher than our everyday retail price! We’ve also seen discounts and sale prices which are HIGHER than the original price, but the word “sale” is enough to draw in potential customers in their droves.
That’s not to say we don’t offer curtain sales ourselves because we do. We’re a small company and cannot afford to lure people under false pretences. All our sales are genuine and though they may not be the 40-50% off discounts offered by our larger competitors, our clients are always pleasantly surprised.
But don’t take our word for it. In fact, the message is don’t take anyone’s word for it. Always get 3 quotes and compare not only the price but carefully consider the product, quality, and service.
